Bachelor’s Degree Transfer Options
Students who earn an A.A. or A.S. degree from Lake-Sumter State College have the option of pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Lake-Sumter or pursuing a bachelor’s degree at a Florida college or university. Many public Florida institutions offer select workforce-related bachelor's degrees, and the public and private universities offer extensive choices of degree programs as well.
In order to be well prepared for a specific bachelor's degree major, it is essential that students meet regularly with an Academic Advisor throughout their associates degree.
Lake-Sumter State College offers three bachelor's level programs:
- Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) in Leadership
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Elementary Education
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Nursing - (RN to BSN)
Within the B.A.S. in Leadership, students have the option of six distinct concentrations:
- Criminal Justice Leadership
- Health Services Administration
- Human Resource Management
- Project Management
- Organizational Management
- Sports Leadership

Transfer Worksheets
Lake-Sumter Academic Advising and the Degree Works auditing tool can provide students with information regarding the necessary pre-requisite courses needed to transition into a bachelor’s degree at Lake-Sumter or to transition into the most common bachelor's degree programs. Students should meet with an academic advisor to develop a customized transfer plan for these or other university majors they wish to pursue. Students can schedule an advising appointment using Starfish which can be accessed through links in both myLSSC and Canvas.
A.A. Transfer Partnerships
University of Central Florida (UCF) – DirectConnect
LSSC has joined with the University of Central Florida to create the Higher Education Consortium Agreement, also known as DirectConnect to UCF. This program provides LSSC students who graduate with an A.A. or articulated A.S. degree guaranteed admission to UCF (Consistent with university policy).
