Grade Amnesty
Grade amnesty at LSSC is a special process for calculating a student's GPA during the selection process into the Associate in Science - Nursing program. Students applying for admission into the Associate in Science - Nursing program and who have academic coursework ten years or older may request to exclude those previous grades from the program selection GPA calculations. All courses attempted during the time period being considered as a part of the amnesty request are excluded from grade calculations for the program selection only. Courses included as part of the amnesty request cannot be used to satisfy program requirements. Since LSSC’s amnesty process is restricted to the selection process for the Associate in Science - Nursing program, all previous grades will be included in all other institutional GPA calculations. Grade amnesty does not change the student’s overall academic standing, nor will the courses/grades be removed from the academic transcript.
