Writing Emphasis
In addition to the 6 credits of required Area I: Communications Writing Emphasis courses, A.A. students must select two additional courses from the list below to complete the remaining 6 credit hours of the 12 credit hour Writing Emphasis or "Gordon Rule" Writing (GRW) requirement. Courses used toward the satisfaction of this 12 credit hour Writing Emphasis (GRW) requirement must be passed with a grade of “C” or higher. Each of the courses below is 3 credit hours:

AMH 2010 U.S. History to 1877 (taken fall 2024 forward), AMH 2020 U.S. History Since 1877, ENC 1101 College Composition I, LIT 2000 Introduction to Literature, PHI 2010 Introduction to Philosophy, and POS 2041 American National Government also satisfy State Core General Education requirements.
