Degree-seeking Students
Students may be admitted to LSSC to a degree-seeking program if they satisfy the requirements described in the options listed below:
- They have earned a U.S. standard high school diploma.
- They have graduated from a high school outside the United States. The applicant must have the equivalent of a high school diploma in the United States. The applicant must arrange to have transcripts from all institutions outside the United States evaluated at the applicant's expense. LSSC accepts evaluations conducted from any agency listed as a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (www.naces.org). Applicants must contact the evaluation agency directly and comply with the agency's instructions on submitting documents for evaluation.
- They have a Certificate of Completion (CPT eligible) from a Florida high school. This certificate ensures that they have taken a college-preparatory curriculum but did not successfully complete all portions of the FCAT 2.0 (Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test). Persons who hold a Certificate of Completion (CPT eligible) are not qualified or eligible to enter into degree programs that require state licensure. Universities will not accept a Certificate of Completion (CPT eligible) unless an A.A. degree is completed.
- They have completed a home education program diploma and provided a signed affidavit submitted by the parent or legal guardian attesting that the student has completed a home education program pursuant to the requirements of Florida Statutes, Section 1002.41(1).
- They have completed a high school equivalency diploma (GED) through a state department of education and submitted an official state issued score report.
- Previously demonstrated competency in College credit post-secondary coursework in accordance with section 1007.263, Florida Statutes. The College defines this competency as any student who has received an associate degree (A.A., A.S., A.A.S.) or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
Note: Not all high school transcripts are acceptable for admission. The College reserves the right to accept or deny high school transcripts for admission purposes.
There is no minimum age for degree-seeking students.
