The following code of ethics covers software use and duplication at Lake Sumter State College (LSSC), and is applicable to both students and employees:

1. All software must be used in accordance with the College's licensing agreements.
2. All software must be purchased and approved through established budgetary planning and purchasing procedures. Use of any unauthorized software on college equipment is prohibited.
3. Illegal copying of software is not permitted. LSSC has internal controls that help prevent the use of unauthorized software copies. Appropriate disciplinary measures may be applied by the college for violation of these standards. State and Federal law prescribes penalties, including fines and imprisonment, for violation of software license agreements.
4. Anyone suspecting misuse of software or violation of this code of ethics should immediately contact the college’s Chief Information Officer.
