CJC-Corrections (CJC)

CJC 1000  Introduction to Corrections  (3 Credits )  
An overview of the correctional system and its processes including history, sentencing, inmate populations, inmate rights, correctional programming, alternatives to incarceration and special problems.
CJC 2160  Community Based Corrections  (3 Credits )  
This course provides an examination of the relationship between institutional confinement and community based correctional programs. The organization and administration of probation and parole programs is examined and special attention will be given to the study of rehabilitative and community reintergration programs and activities.
CJC 2300  Correctional Administration  (3 Credits )  
This course will examine the functions of correctional administrators and the issues that will drive their roles. Topics covered include correctional management and administration, managing offenders, managing the environment, managing correctional staff and the future of corrections.
