HUM 2020 Introduction to Humanities: Antiquity through the 21st Century (3 Credits )
In this course, students will learn about the creative ideas and accomplishments of various cultures in various fields of humanities that may include art, architecture, drama, history, music, literature, philosophy, and religion. The course will include cultural expressions from the Western canon and may also include expressions from around the globe. Student Learning Outcomes: -Students will demonstrate knowledge of arts and ideas and synthesize information from various sources. -Students will analyze and interpret selected expressions of arts and ideas. -Students will compare and contrast selected expressions of arts and ideas. -Students will identify contextual influences on the development of interdisciplinary arts and ideas.

HUM 2454 African-American Humanities (3 Credits )
African-American Humanities provides an integrated study of New World cultures most impacted by the African Diaspora with a focus on the United States from the 19th Century to the present. Topics include the impact of African influences on art, music, literature, dance, religion, and the creation of distinctive African-American cultures. This is a Gordon Rule Writing course, so a substantial portion of the assessments for this class will involve writing both formal and informal assignments.
Prerequisite: C or higher in ENC 1101

HUM 2461 Latin American Humanities (3 Credits )
HUM 2461 is an introductory survey of humanities of Latin America within the context of history and cultural studies. The course explores significant aspects of the art, literature, music, philosophy, religions, drama, architecture and customs of the peoples and societies of Latin America. Spatially, the course covers from Cape Horn to the borderlands of the United States, and temporally, it beings with early pre-Columbian culture and ends in the twenty-first century.

HUM 2930 Selected Topics in Humanities (3 Credits )
This course is problem--issue-- subject-centered in its approach to the humanities. It provides an awareness of and appreciation for major themes and/or cultures through an in-depth study of specific humanities topics as they relate to the selected topic.
