Student Government Association

Membership in the Student Government Association (SGA) is open to all LSSC students. Serving as the official representative body for students on campus, the SGA is responsible for organizing student activities and events, facilitating discussions, advocating for student concerns to the faculty and administration, and offering advisory support to students. Weekly SGA meetings are conducted at the South Lake and Leesburg Campuses. All LSSC students in good standing have the opportunity to become voting members of the SGA and contribute their input on relevant issues. Details regarding meeting times and locations are announced each semester on the Student Life Experience Platform.   

SGA is led by of the following officer positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Chief Financial Officer and Directors. SGA Officers are appointed to serve for one academic year through an application and interview process. To be eligible for a position, the student must be enrolled and maintain at least six (6) credit hours, have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, and demonstrate leadership qualities. Dual Enrollment students are ineligible to hold SGA office but can serve in a representative capacity to address the needs and interests of dual enrollment students.
